Final rule revises Medicare Advantage and Part D for contract year 2027

The rule changes star ratings, marketing and communications, drug coverage, enrolment processes and special needs plan rules.

Washington, 6 April 2026 — The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued a final rule revising the Medicare Advantage, Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit and Medicare cost plan regulations. The rule states that it implements changes related to star ratings, marketing and communications, drug coverage, enrolment processes, special needs plans and other programmatic areas, for contract year 2027 and certain parts of contract year 2026.
