About
About the Gazette
The Peptide Gazette is a trade newspaper. It is written for people who work in or around the peptide business — compounders, outsourcing facilities, regulatory staff, suppliers, analysts — and who need to know what changed on the public record.
The paper carries one kind of story and no other: a report of a dated primary document. That document is a Federal Register notice or rule, an entry in the FDA enforcement file, or a record on the public trial registry. The report states what the document says, names the body that issued it, gives its identifier and links to it.
What the Gazette is not
It is not opinion, and it is not rewritten competitor copy. It carries no analysis of what a document might mean, no forecast of what an agency might do next, and no quotes: the Gazette contacts no one and has no correspondents.
It is not a clinical publication. A report may name a compound, because a document names it. No report presents that compound’s clinical evidence, weighs a study, or describes what a substance does in a person.
The sections
- Regulation — Rules, guidance and notices that set what may be compounded, from which substances, and by whom. Sourced from the Federal Register.
- Trials — Status changes on the public trial registry: what a sponsor has registered, and what state that entry is in. A registry record reports no result.
- Recalls — Enforcement reports: what was recalled, by whom, how much of it, where it went and the reason the record gives.
- Industry — The cost of operating: establishment and reinspection fees, registration paperwork, and the payer rules that move with them.
The method, the feeds and the exact search terms are set out in full on the editorial policy page. The limits of what the Gazette can be used for are on the disclaimer page.
